Where do scratches come from?
Most fine scratches don't come from accidents but from regular washing: car wash brushes, a dirty sponge, wiping with a dry cloth. In the sun they appear as "spider webs" around the light reflection. Polishing removes a microscopic layer of clear coat along with these defects, leaving the surface smooth and mirror-like again.

Honest about the limits of polishing
A deep scratch you can feel with your fingernail has usually gone through the clear coat to the primer. Polishing can only make it less visible, not fully remove it. We tell you this before we start, not after.
